Paper Mache
While creating samples for creative recycling workshops, I had a chance to explore the medium of Paper not just as surface but as a material, as medium. Paper-Mache was made with discarded school worksheets to highlight sustainability issues but soon I found this it interesting to work with, piquing my curiosity.
Work on ‘Mu’/ ‘Sunya’
I was introduced to “Mu’ during the Zen calligraphy classes with Sansei. This ideogram is suppose to have the essence of Zen. It reminded me of the ‘Ten Bulls’ Zen story my teacher in India had asked me to carve. Inspired by it I started working on non-duality/ ‘Nothingness’. Some of these works were exhibited at ‘Planted’ venue for the Boneyard 2023 art fest.
Nothingness also reminds me of the concept of ‘Shunya’ Zero. which happened to be a circle. Circle reminds me of Enso. Is there any co-relation in these concepts. I wish to explore these as part of my C Designing Inquiry.
